Supplemental Production Technician

Overview

Perform technical and A/V duties on live, studio, taped and remote productions; helping CPM reach more people, build a strong organization and make a positive impact in the community.

Pay Rate: $23.39 per hour

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

I. Produce

  1. Perform technical production-related duties including G&E, lighting, floor direction, switching, camera operation, audio, electronic graphics, teleprompter, set construction and dressing
  2. Coordinate the technical functions of television broadcast production for live, studio recorded and remote productions, EFP field recordings and audio sweetening
  3. Set up and serve as technical facilitator for teleconferences and other station meetings and events
  4. Advise producers, directors and clients to optimize capabilities of production equipment

II. Support Production

  1. Identify and report faulty equipment, technical procedure problems and personnel problems
  2. Properly store television production equipment
  3. Assist with inventory of television production equipment
  4. Other production related duties

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. AA degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience required
  2. Two years’ experience as a Production Technician II  or equivalent position required
  3. Advanced working knowledge of camera operation, teleprompter, studio set-up, lighting, Electronic Graphics (EG), audio, lighting, switching and computer systems, software and hardware, required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds required
  2. Ability to climb, twist, bend, kneel, crawl and reach above head required
  3. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools and various machines
  4. Ability to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
  5. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  6. Possess a valid Washington State drivers license, or ability to obtain one, preferred
  7. Travel in the field (Terms and conditions covered by IBEW Agreement)
