Overview

The Visual Designer III will produce visually compelling creative work with a passion for clear design. They play a key role in the Marking Department while supporting development and application of design to all areas of the organization, as well as acts as stewards and champions brand consistency across all supported properties and products while demonstrating CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.

Salary Range: $68,000- $73,000 annually

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Visualize in 2D and 3D to understand aesthetic aspects of design 
  • Articulate design trends. Enhance projects on diverse mediums and platforms
  • Help oversee creative direction with more junior designers as needed
  • Guide content production team with graphic treatments, photo editing and development of motion graphics
  • Support marketing, editorial and creative resources in applying established design to a range of products
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and consistent execution of brand creative guidelines 
  • Digital media asset management
  • Execute creative work within an established brand system of assets and templates — and be capable of forging and deriving new assets and templates from same
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders to ensure project outcomes align with priorities and direction
  • Work efficiently within a creative content team, managing and prioritizing workflow and maintaining ongoing communication with content and marketing colleagues 
  • Collaborate with other designers, copywriters and vendors. Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Competency in foundational design principles (typography, color, line, composition) across multiple media, i.e. print, display, digital, social 
  • Ability to present design concepts to stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Strong sense of visual style with exceptional conception skills
  • Competency in project management and time management 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within tight deadlines
  • Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch and Figma. After Effects and Premiere a plus
  • A strong understanding of web/social media best practices and trends
  • Can collaborate easily with colleagues in UX and tech and partners across departments 
  • Experience with designing brand-aligned marketing assets & campaigns
  • Strong file organization and file hygiene
  • Ability to lead projects when called upon, and work with multiple stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in interactive communications, graphic design, equivalent qualification or experience
  • Four or more years experience in brand building, marketing, responsive design, apps, OTT and layouts
  • Demonstrable experience applying and iterating upon established brand guidelines
  • Experience with corporate branding and marketing preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to regularly type on a keyboard
