CPM and the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild sat (virtually, due to social distancing) for a negotiation session on April 22, 2020.
Proposals discussed were:
- Package of Grievance Procedure, and No Strike / No Lockout
- Package of Guild Membership, Management Rights, and withdrawal of Dues Deduction
- Outside Activity
- Safety
- New Guild Proposal
- Conferences and Conventions
Status and Outcomes:
- Tentative Agreements reached on two packaged proposals
- Grievance Procedure, and No Strike / No Lockout
- Guild Membership, Management Rights, and withdrawal of Dues Deduction
- Guild to review counter language on Outside Activity, Safety
Next Steps:
- The next session is scheduled for May 6, 2020
- Both the Guild and Management will discuss standing open proposals.
